Bus
We want you to really enjoy the wedding with us, so hop on a bus and party the night away. It’s also an eco-friendly option.
The bus LEAVES at 2:00 p.m. so don’t miss it.
There will be two pick-up and drop-off locations:
- Thornhill (Promenade parking lot in front of the LCBO)
- Downtown (Bloor & Church parking lot at the South-West corner)
The bus will depart the wedding around 11:15 p.m.
Directions
If you are going to be driving, it’s a very simple and beautiful drive up to the Kawarthas. It’s about a 1 hour & 10 minute drive from Toronto.
- Take the 401 East to ON-115 N/ON-35 N (exit 436).
- Take the ON-35 exit toward Lindsay.
- Turn right onto ON-7A E.
- Follow the road to your destination in Kawartha Lakes.
- Arrive at Iron Horse Ranch on your right.
On the way, you will pass a lovely McDonald’s in Ajax (turn right at the Westney exit, left on Bayly & you will see the Golden Arches on your left). I hear there is a fabulous South African owner and let’s be serious, fries and a vanilla cone are always a good idea.
Bring your wedding invitation in and the staff will give you a free vanilla cone to help you enjoy your ride to the country. Thanks McBradles!

What to Wear: Country Dapper
Keep your tuxedos at home. There aren’t cummerbunds in the country. From “Black tie optional” to “casually elegant”, the etiquette on describing wedding what-to-wear is a funny thing.
Josh is calling the wedding attire “Country Dapper”. Stylish suits/sports coats and dapper dresses…dress so you feel special because, honestly, you really are.
Feel free to bring your sunglasses – we are hoping for a beautiful sunny day.
Dancing Shoes
Let’s talk about heels. This is an outdoor wedding with dinner and dancing in a beautiful barn. You will be walking on grass, stone roads, barnboard floors, and just about everything in between.
Words of wisdom: NO STILETTOS! Jenna advises flats, wedges, or chunky heels.
#cheers2jj
Considering the bride researches social media for her PhD, you can be assured it’s a social media-friendly event.
Please DO post on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, etc. and make others jealous of your time in the country.
Be sure to use the hashtag #cheers2jj so that we can all follow along during and after the event.
What’s in a Name?
After much deliberation, the groom has decided to keep his name.
(Although I think Josh Jacobson sounds pretty rock-star).
Jenna will be staying Ms. Jenna Jacobson, until she is eventually Dr. Jenna Jacobson.

Thank you
We literally can’t wait to celebrate with our family and friends. While a wedding is about love and all that other fun mushy stuff, this day is also a celebration of all the people in our lives who love us, support us, and are there to watch us on this crazy journey.
We are genuinely fortunate to have such wonderful people in our lives. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
